Explanation for bbcodes forumindex, showthreads, bookindex (nuWiki compatability)

Hi Pegasus,

Could you please write a short explanation and/or point me to a specific wiki article which details how to use the new NuWiki compatible bbcodes? I'm having a really hard time getting these to work, possibly because I'm not sure *how* these should work. Showthreads works for me, but is not really the one I was hoping for, since it only shows the last 15 (?) threads. I can't seem to grasp what forumindex should be doing, since whatever I try: I can't get it to display anything useful. How would that one work?

Basically, I'm trying to mimic NuWiki's 2nd post where every article in the wiki is neatly listed per letter in three columns.

Please link to a page where you are trying to use these so I can have a look. These should be performing the same functions as they did in NuWiki, except that:

• FORUMINDEX and BOOKINDEX are sorted by title, but not separated by letter.
• Using the book ID in BOOKINDEX is deprecated. You should switch to using book titles.

This was one of the best features in NuWiki and our users really loved it. I thought these new bbcodes would enable us to get this functionality back, but I can't seem to find out how.

The template XML for vBulletin 3 wasn't updated with the postbit hooks for these. You'll see that I have edited vault_article_postbit and added $post[below_article] to it in some of your styles. You can add it to the bottom of the template for the other styles to get the info to appear.

Well the list is not alphabetized in the same way at the moment. I'd like to add this, there just wasn't enough time to get everything in before this release. As for displaying all articles (including ones from other forums), that's not possible at the moment. I think it would make more sense to only display articles from sub-forums and only if a cascade-option was enabled.

Thanks Pegasus for the prompt answers. The alphabetized option is not so important, although I'd really love to see this in a future release. My main "problem" is it's only listing a subset of our wiki articles and not the whole threadlist. E.g. in this Wiki it's only showing letters A-Ci instead of all articles A-Z. If there's a fix for this I'd really love to know (otherwise users are thinking these are the only articles we have, when in fact we have much much more)

But I don't think we will have time to add the Alphabet Headings before its release. I recommend opening a Feature Request: http://www.vaultwiki.org/projectpost...typeid=feature

This is sorted by the chapter order as defined by the book. I don't see us changing that anytime soon.

I only need this for FORUMINDEX. I agree, doesn't make much sense for books.
