    2. Content Integration in Wiki Areas

This page is a chapter in VW4 Content Integration Administration
Note:This article assumes you have already activated content integration for wiki areas. If you have not, see Activate Content Integration.

For individual wiki areas, you can control whether content integrations can be placed on those pages by using the regular area settings.

In the wiki's Admin Panel, go to Structures > Area Manager, and edit the desired area. Under the heading "Miscellaneous Options," there is an item for "Allow Content Integration."

Using this setting, you can control whether staff, such as wiki moderators, must be the ones to initially add the wiki content, or whether any user with posting permissions in that area can do it.

Note:This setting only controls whether you can insert a secondary wiki article as a content integration on wiki pages that are saved in that area. It does not affect whether the articles in the area can be shown as a content integration somewhere else.

Warning:The original wiki content does not inherit any permissions from the location you decide to show it via content integration.

For example, if you intend to use wiki content in a private wiki area, the integrated content can still be viewed at its original URL. If you wish that the integrated content also be private, you must make sure that integrated content is saved in the same part of the wiki as the page where you have inserted it or in a part that has similar access permissions to the private area.
