The NAWCC (National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors) was founded in 1943 and today is the largest organization devoted to the study of timekeeping and its watch and clock artifacts. The association has a major museum and research center located in Columbia Pennsylvania and has over 14,000 members worldwide who are organized into over 150 local chapters. In addition there are over 20 regional meetings held throughout the United States each year that feature exhibits, lectures and trading activity. The association also provides a major web presence with a focus on information sharing through its vBulletin Forums and ValtWiki based Encyclopedia.
The NAWCC uses VaultWiki to provide a collaborative authoring environment that represents the consensus view of numerous subjects in horology (the art and science of timekeeping).
