Global feeds can be searched and linked like other wiki content, but they also receive prominent positioning at the top of wiki areas where the feeds are stored. A global feed typically shows articles that are important to the majority of a wiki's readership. These might be news articles, featured articles, or other must-read articles.
A widget at the top of the area will show previews of recent entries from that feeds within the same area. The widget will automatically play through multiple feeds without requiring you to scroll very far down the page to find other area content.
If you see a feed you like in the animated widget, simply click "More from this feed" to view the feed in full.
You can view a list of every feed within the area by clicking "View All Feeds."
If the widget is hidden, you can also view a list of every feed within the area by clicking "List of Feeds in This Area" in the area's "View" tab.
Note that, unlike wiki pages, feeds are not constrained to wiki areas. Users can make truly global feeds by creating them on the wiki index.
Warning: Administrators that do not want users posting feeds directly to the index should use Custom Area Permissions to allow feed creation only in specified areas.
