Once all the VaultWiki files have been successfully uploaded to your web server, you will need to setup the config file before you can run the installation script.

-
Navigate to the /vault directory and locate the file (or files) whose names start with config.php. Select the one with the extension that most closely corresponds to whatever forum software you have installed. -
+
Depending on your version and forum software, the config file may be in a different location.
For VaultWiki 4.0.x versions, navigate to the /vault directory.
For VaultWiki 4.1.x and higher:

In XenForo 2.x, navigate to the /src/addons/vw/vw directory.

In XenForo 1.x, navigate to the /library/vw directory.

In vBulletin, navigate to the /vault directory.
In this directory, locate the file (or files) whose names start with config.php.
Select the one with the extension that most closely corresponds to whatever forum software you have installed. -
For example, if you are using vBulletin 4, you would pick the file with the extension .vb4. If you are using XenForo, you would pick the file with the extension .xf. And so forth.
Rename this file to remove the extension, such that the complete file name is config.php
In most cases, you should not have to modify this file further, but there are some useful configuration settings inside should you need them later.
