2. Changing the Order of Book Chapters

You can change the order that chapters appear in a Book's Table of Contents by clicking on the "Manage Chapters" link in the book's "Options" tab. Changing the order will also affect the "previous" and "next" links in the affected chapters.

You will need permission to edit the book in order to access this form.

You should see a list of all chapters within the book here. If you want to simply sort the chapters alphabetically, click the button labeled "Alphabetize."

To fully customize the chapter order, you can number the chapters using the provided numerical fields. When you are satisfied, click the "Update Order" button.

If you're not sure what order to use for any of the chapters because you're unfamiliar with the content, you can click "[View]" to review the corresponding chapter.

If you also have permission to change the book for any given chapter, you will be able to remove that chapter from the table of contents entirely. Use the appropriate checkbox to select the chapter. Then click the "Delete Selected" button.

After making changes, you will be returned to the book where you can review the updated Table of Contents.
