The Create/Edit tabs are where you actually write wiki articles. The Edit tab is very similar to the default message posting editor you already use for forum posts. You can use this tab to modify the text that appears on the main article view.

Whenever users make changes on the Edit tab, they may receive credit for their contributions on the main tab, their profiles, and other places.

Below the text editor are several other fields:

Templates used

If the article was composed using other pages as templates, a list of the templates used will be shown to help editors keep track of where parts of the article body are coming from. You can learn more about templates and how they are used in Introduction to Templates.

Categories

Editors can add the article to various directory lists called categories. Categories contain similarly-themed content and are generally a great way for users to discover new content.

If the user can edit the target category, they can add the article to it.
If the user can create categories, they can make a new one and add the article to it.

The Edit tab includes a live-search bar to help users find a category quickly by starting to type its title.

Reason for Editing

Editors can enter a brief description of the changes that were made. This helps differentiate between edits on the History tab. Because changes can be placed into the moderation queue, the reason can also help moderators make their decision about approving the change.

Minor edits are very small changes like spelling or grammar mistakes. When an edit is flagged as minor, the user making the change won't receive credit on the main tab or on his/her profile.

Title

The title of an article is used to generate the article's URL and to link to the article from other pages. For this reason, changes to the Title or Prefix are not recommended unless absolutely necessary.

Once the title and prefix are set, only editors with separate permission to rename the page can change them.

If the title or prefix is changed, VaultWiki will automatically create a synonym using the old title and prefix that forwards to the new location.

This behavior can be suppressed by clicking "Do not create a redirect when renaming this page". Because using this option is similar to deleting the original title, it will only be available if the user is also able to delete the article.
