This setting group from the vBulletin options will allow the Administrator to change how VaultWiki interacts with the rest of the forum.

Enable Navbar Wiki Menu

VaultWiki inserts a drop-down menu into the Navbar, including quick links to important parts of the wiki.

Some sites may have custom menu systems that conflict with the wiki drop-down menu. In this case, an Administrator can use this setting to disable the default Wiki menu.

If the menu is disabled, you may consider merging the links in the menu into your custom templates.

Enable AJAX Previews of Wiki Articles

If this setting is enabled, hovering the mouse pointer over a link to a wiki page will create a short AJAX preview. A few lines from the target wiki page will appear in a small popup box under the link.

When posting throughout the forum, users may not consider linking to articles relevant to their discussions. The Auto Link system automatically converts phrases in posts that match existing article titles into links to those articles.

While Auto Links make the article creation process easier in this way as well, wiki editors should make every effort to manually create links. When Link Caching is enabled, this will help VaultWiki to better track links to articles that have not been created, which Auto Links do not consider.

There are three possible values for this setting:
  • Disabled
  • Enabled, in the entire forum
  • Enabled, only in wiki forums

Keeping track of a high volume of links may become server intensive. If your forum has a lot of posts, you may consider only using Auto Links in wiki forums, or disabling the feature altogether.

Activate Navbits Compression

When this setting is enabled, the Navbits Compressor will remove repetitive text from the breadcrumbs. That is, if two consecutive breadcrumbs contain the same text, the first of the those would be removed. This can be useful if you create an article in a forum of the same name.

Additional Navbits Compressor Phrases

The Navbits Compressor will attempt to remove repetitive text from the breadcrumbs. Normally, the compressor will only modify complete breadcrumbs. However, text can be compressed on a per-phrase basis as well by specifying particular phrases.

Consider the breadcrumb: foo bar
And a setting of: bar
The resulting breadcrumb: foo

You can define multiple phrases by placing each phrase on a separate line.

Name of the Wiki

Give a name to the site's wiki. This name will be used to discuss the wiki as a whole and should give a sense of the general purpose of the wiki.

The name of the wiki will be used for the wiki tab links, the home page, and in copyright notices.

Since it will be encoded during run time, you cannot use HTML markup in the name.

Thumbnail Max Dimensions?

Set a different thumbnail size for images saved in the wiki's Image space.

Using the "thumb" argument in the Image space's BB-Code, you can insert a version of the image with these dimensions into posts.

Social Group Mask

When a user joins a Social Group that has Group Pages, he/she will also be added to this User Group.

Use the User Group as a permissions mask to grant social group members different permissions than other users.

Default Forum for Group Start Pages

A Group Start Page is a wiki page that is maintained and linked from the Social Group's page. It typically contains information about the group and provides members a jumping-off point for creating additional Group pages.

When a Social Group is first created, it doesn't have a Start Page yet. A link will appear allowing the owner to create the Start Page in the specified forum. It can still be created in other forums by creating a page elsewhere and checking "Make this the group's Start Page."

Like other Group Pages, Start Pages can only be created in forums that allow Group pages. If no forum is selected, and the Default namespace allows Group pages, then its root forum will be used.

Maximum Characters Per Wiki Page

Set this option to the maximum number of characters you wish to allow in one wiki article. If you set this to 0 it will disable the maximum character check.
