Running the VaultWiki Upgrade Script
This is an old revision of this page, as edited August 16, 2009, 2:43 PM by pegasus(contribs). It may differ significantly from the current revision.
With the newest VaultWiki files uploaded to your web server, you can now proceed to run the upgrade script.
Unlike many other vBulletin modifications, the upgrader runs as a PHP script using your web browser. To start the upgrade process, open your browser and visit the HTTP address of your forums directory, followed by /vault/install/upgrade.php
The first thing you will see from the upgrade script is a log in prompt, asking you to log into your forum's AdminCP. This is done to prevent other users from accidentally stumbling across the upgrade script and running it.
When you have entered your forum user name and password, hit the "Login" button, and you should be taken to the first step of the install script.
Warning: Certain browser plug-ins can have an adverse effect on the VaultWiki installation and upgrade scripts. We recommend that all browser plugins be disabled while running install and upgrade scripts for VaultWiki.
The first page of the upgrade script will greet you, while the following steps will update your database to run the new version of VaultWiki. For each step, click the "Next Step" button at the bottom right of the window to proceed to the next step of the installer.
When the upgrade is complete, VaultWiki will be automatically re-enabled, and you will be taken to your forum's AdminCP. To avoid a potential security issue, delete the contents of the /vault/install/ directory on your web server.
You will want to make sure your templates and phrases are up to date. You can read more about how to do this here:
