Download the latest version of CES VaultWiki Lite from vBulletin.org (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=189446).

Extract the contents of ces_nwsp_spec_lite.zip to a local directory. Upload the files contained in the /upload directory to your web server, in the forum root directory.

Installing

The install script will need file access in order to perform automatic file edits. Before continuing, make sure the following are CHMOD 0777:
  • ./includes/functions.php
If you don't know how to CHMOD, try using the Help articles in your FTP program, or contact your web host.

Log into vBulletin's AdminCP. Open Plugins & Products > Product Manager. Click "[Add/Import Product]". Use the form to import the product-ces_spec_cat.xml file from your computer.

Creating the Wiki

To create a forum for your wiki, visit Forums & Moderators > Add New Forum. Fill in the fields as desired, except:
  • Title - Set this to "Wiki".
  • Parent Forum - Set this to "No One".
  • Act as Forum - Set this to "Yes".
  • Enable Wiki in this forum - Set this to "Wiki".
Click "Save" to create the forum.

Find the forum you created in the list, and click to edit it. At the top of the form you should see the Title of the forum followed by "(id: X)". Make a note of the ID number. You will need this later.

Because we named our forum "Wiki", the wiki forum will use the [wiki] BB-Code to link to articles in itself and its subforums.

Configuring Settings

Visit vBulletin Options > vBulletin Options, and open the "CES VaultWiki" group.

Set "The forum ID of the Default Namespace" to the ID we noted above.
Set "Constant Title Namespaces" to "Wiki".

Make sure the following settings are correct:
  • Filename of the Wiki PHP File - should be "showwiki"
  • $_REQUEST Title Variable - should be "title"
  • Filename of the CSS File - should be "special"

In Usergroups > Usergroup Manager, you will notice a new permissions group "CES VaultWiki Permissions". These permissions control who can edit articles. Set them as desired.

Wrapping Up

Open Threads & Posts > Wiki Article Tools. Click the "Rebuild Article List" button.

Return to vBulletin Options > vBulletin Options and open the "CES VaultWiki" group. Set "Turn on the Wiki" to "Yes", and save.
