Note: This article assumes you have already activated content integration for forum pages. If you have not, see Activate Content Integration.
For individual forums, you can control whether content integrations are allowed by using the regular forum settings.
In vBulletin, go to Forums & Moderators > Forum Manager, and edit the desired forum. Under the heading "Wiki Options," there is an item for "Allow Content Integration."
In XenForo, go to Applications > Node Tree > Display Node Tree, and edit the desired forum. Under the tab "Forum Options," there is an item for "Allow Wiki Content Integration."
Using this setting, you can control whether staff, such as forum moderators, must be the ones to initially add the wiki content, or whether any user with posting permissions in that forum can do it.
Warning: An integration technically resides somewhere in the wiki. Once an integration is added, any user who can view that part of the wiki can view the content. Any user who can edit that part of the wiki can modify the content.
Warning: The original wiki content does not inherit any permissions from the location you decide to show it via content integration.
For example, if you intend to use wiki content in a private forum, the wiki content can still be viewed at its wiki URL. If you wish that the wiki content also be private, you must make sure that wiki content is saved in a part of the wiki that has similar access permissions to the private forum.
