Area widget doesn't work in sidebar

The following code renders without any title, or items in it...

Code:

[div]position="sidebar"| [widget]Area|area="Characters"[/widget] [/div]

The same code without being wrapped inside div, works fine

In src/addons/vw/vw/_core/instance/parser/html/vw.php, find:
