Cannot edit Area Permissions in XF

When in the Area Manager I cannot edit the permissions for each area, it just comes up with the following error and no server log error

I just tried this with XF debug mode on and the error returned is from XF\Db\InvalidQueryException. The error is not generated for the top-level "Wiki" area. So this may be related to my earlier report that pegasus has fixed in an upcoming 4.1 Alpha build: https://www.vaultwiki.org/issues/5598/
