Attachment references did not import to XF 1.5
Essentially all the references to attached documents were lost during the import from vB4

I have begun trying to repair our articles following the import from vBulletin. There are many things I do not understand about how navigation should be working, but initially, I would like to recover our attachment references that were working on vBulletin, but did not import correctly in XenForo.

In particular there are many references with links to clippings from magazines and similar items.

We were using the standard attachment system on vB for those references and for a few image references.

This is a link to an instance of the problem. Reference failure section

For reference, this report refers to an import from vBulletin 4 into XenForo, where the standard forum import failed to import the forum attachments (core XenForo). The OP's wiki, imported later, had included some links (in URL tags) to some of the attachments, and now those links need to be updated in some way. It does not refer to a bug in VaultWiki, an improvement request, or desired behavior changes, so this issue is marked "rejected".

To resolve links to your old attachments in wiki pages:

      - If you eventually got those missing attachments imported into XenForo, you should implement XenForo's attachment.php redirect script for vB imports
      - Otherwise, if you access the old attachments as static files via the browser directly, you must update the URLs in your wiki pages to point to the new locations of the images.

If the attachments were not imported correctly (or at all) and you now have these files located in a web-accessible directory as static files, then the second option is probably more for you. There is an automated script that can handle this; however, before I can help you with the patterns you need to input into the script, you will need to explain how the old location and the new locations correspond to each other.

      Example old location:
      Code:
      attachment.php?attachmentid=120929&d=1329503263
Example new location (not the same one):
      Code:
      safe/attachment/files/2/6/0/1/2/142270.attach
For example, it is not clear to me how to get the files/ subdirectory from the URL alone.

Since you are now trying to resolve this on the wiki, how did you eventually resolve this situation in normal posts? In theory, you would apply the same technique you used to replace your attachment.php URLs elsewhere.
