VW doesn't use Xenforo permissions systemin ina standard manner

Howdy

On XF the common practice is to have a base group "say member"

and then to have secondary groups to add permissions

Main group "member"
Secondary "Can Access wiki group"

however this addon doesn't acknowledge secondary groups it seems.

Member with "access wiki group" as primary = works
Member with "access wiki group" as secondary = doesn't work

Make sure not to select "Never" on base groups. Consistent with XenForo permissions, if "Never" is chosen, it doesn't matter if the secondary group has "Yes", the user will still Never have permission.

Otherwise, I will need a more specific example that isn't working, because it is already designed to work as you have described.

Member group was set to no (not set)
RPG group was set to yes/allow

those with RPG group as a secondary group = no access
those with RPG group as primary = access

I have made a small change on your site. Please let me know if the issue persists. I cannot duplicate the issue on our XenForo test with a test user.

If it does, I will need access to a user account that has groups like you mention, and I will need to know which permissions in particular you have set in this way. Please PM me with these details when you can.

Closing this issue. Our test shows the permissions waterfall working as designed. There were a number of other bugs that resulted in a no-permission error that have since been resolved, which this might have been referring to. Some actions require multiple permissions and might be misleading, which would be a different bug than saying that permission bit values aren't combined properly.
