Issue: Headers created by me are visible only to me

This is strange. I'm using mod to log in as different users. When I use this mod, I couldn't see any headers.

On the other hand, when I log as that user (I have clone for testing) I see public headers. What's going on, I don't know. But some of as don't see all headers.

Also, I noted this difference:

I disabled users to be able to edit headers (you could check header forum permissions), but on forum http://slobodni.net/f37/ they doin't see edit link, and on http://slobodni.net/f47/ they do. There's a lot strange going on.

Ok, what I found:

Using other browser I tried to see headers. And using test user, I changed his usergroups to have access to different parts of forum.

Anyway, this is very confusing and it looks to have some link to my report that headers after upgrade aren't visible. After I checked for headers, they become visible. At least to me. But now I don't know who actually could see headers and who couldn't.

For example, as my test user I tried to see header created by my admin. And I couldn't see it. After I went to headers forum (were headers are placed), and entered there this header and choose to see header in context, now I see header. Before that, I couldn't. This is same as explained in report about problems with headers after upgrade.

But, main thing is, who can see headers? Maybe some do, maybe some don't. Only certain users could go and see header forum. Also, I couldn't reliably tell if others see headers if I see them. Because I had this certain header visible with my other browser and my other account (main one, not this test one).

So, even if I make header visible to me, it's not necessarily visible to others.

And it may even have something to do with cookies.

About my testing with mod to log in others account, I think we may disregard these results. But, testing with my clone account, this is very strange and very confusing, I see some headers, some don't and I don't see same information in all of them, but I should (I mean the thing with edit link in two forums when I looked at them as registered user, as reported in previous post.

The most upsetting thing is this difference between what I see, what I don't and unpredictability. It seems like everything changes with every pageload. I'm not sure why, but things are changing.

Here's one more example.

On this forum: http://slobodni.net/f86/ my moderator created header. I saw this when I checked header created by admin, the reason I started this report.

Anyway, I now went there and I couldn't see this header. Ok, I know there is header, but I can't see it. I started other browser (main one is Opera, FireFox is for testing) and as guest I see this header.

Here are pictures of the same header. First is what I see when I'm in Opera, logged with my main account (Alan_SP) which is superadmin:

This is in same time. I know that if I try to edit header, then go to header forum, choose to see this header and after that go to see it in context later on I'll see header. But, now I don't see it and also I don't know who can see headers, and more important, how to make sure that everyone see all created headers.

And I logged in with my testing account, it sees header too.

Very, very upsetting. I really like headers, they are great tool, very helpful.

And here's latest info:

I confirmed this with my other owner partner (co-owner? not sure in correct English term). He couldn't see many (maybe even all headers, but we tested with few of them and he couldn't see any of these) headers. I suggested him to log out. After that he started to see headers on parts where guest could see them.

Then he logged in and he still could see headers. Confusing, isn't it?

Interesting is that now I could see header in forum I mentioned in report above. Header become visible. What's the real reason for this, I don't know, I'm not quite sure, but there's some strange thing with header visibility. It looks like after they are created only creator see them. Why they become visible to others, why guests can see them, don't know. But what if users needs first to see them as guests to be able to see them? Some of them always stay logged in. I mentioned cookies, but I'm not sure if header visibility has anything with cookies.

EDIT:

My partner's wife is admin I mentioned in first post. He could log in as she. When he logged in as she, he couldn't see any header. Then he logged out as she and after he logged in as her he still couldn't see anything.

Strange thing is, this is the same computer, same browser.

This really sounds as real mystery.

Headers, like articles, are tied to a language ID. If the header is saved in a different language than you like to read the forums, you won't see it.

Keep this in mind when you post any article. The default selection is always your current language. If you read an article in a different language, however, it forces your current language to change. This is why you can see the headers by following the context link.

If you have multiple versions of some headers, it means you have multi-language support turned on, so just make sure to watch your language choice when posting.

As for the edit permissions, I need to look into that.

Yes, it was language thing.

It really drove me crazy. Just wanted to report you further info when I saw your answer. Anyway, now I know what's the problem, I could inform my moderators what should they do.

The thing that still bothers me why I didn't see headers from start, only after I saw them as guest? I'm not sure I had different language, but I'll pay more attention in the future and look for language I use.

Hope you'll change this thing in VW4, I think you mentioned you will.

Yes in VaultWiki 4, article languages and forum languages are separate so this doesn't happen.
