      Edit tab and edit hooks
The vBulletin.org add-on Post Templates does not work with Edit Tab

We are creating a number of templates to be used for footnotes, citations, etc. and wanted to organize these using the Post Template add-on. The Post Template add-on adds a drop down list of boilerplate text objects that may be inserted in the current document to the Editor Toolbar.

The implementation succeeds in showing the dropdown in all edit environments except in the Edit Tab of Vault Wiki. It shows up just fine in the article creation editor.

Is there some way to provide the edit toolbar hook for the Edit Tab?

I did a brief search but could not find the spot in the vBulletin templates.

By looking at the code, I don't see why this wouldn't work. You may need to click "Reload this Tab" on the Edit tab if you are using AJAX tabs.

Turning off Ajax tab handling solves the problem with the disappearing drop down box.

Can you give a brief comment on the value of the Ajax tabs? What do I give up by turning them off?

AJAX tabs allow the user to switch back and forth without reloading the entire page. This is mainly useful for switching back and forth between discussions and the article for reference. AJAX feels more interactive, and it saves some bandwidth.
