Top-Level Forum Creation in Namespace Manager

Another way to streamline the Namespace creation process and get rid of all this confusion might just be to add the following option to the Top-Level and Display forum choosers: "Create New Forum". These would move to a new page before saving the namespace, the page would contain very few and only superficial options, ensuring that a valid forum is created.

      Added for the next build.

EDIT: Changed to In Progress while we re-adjust this system to support the "Floating Namespaces" that were implemented.

Not much needed to be changed. Some phrases now call the creation of the "Display Forum" the "Parent Forum," and the order had to be changed so the new parent could be used.

Not sure where to post this.......

Installed VaultWiki and now i cannot access the admin panel.

I see the following message. The script should check for this issue before installing IMHO.

Only admins can see this error. Other users can visit the site normally, but your immediate attention is needed in the AdminCP.

Invalid default namespace ID detected. Make sure that you have set up the default namespace via the Namespace Manager. If you have, check that the CES VaultWiki option "Namespace ID of the Default Namespace" matches a namespace ID from left column of the Namespace Manager (default: 6) and is not a forum ID.

If that setting is correct, it is possible that the Namespace Cache is not up to date because of corruption or a recent VaultWiki upgrade. To solve this issue, simply go to the Namespace Manager and select Rebuild All Namespaces.

The install script can't check for this because you're supposed to configure these settings after installing. If you don't configure anything, you get this message when you leave the AdminCP. You can log back into the AdminCP by visiting the address directly. Then follow the instructions in the error message.

However, we just released the new version (2.5.0). Before spending time trying to configure the old version, you should upgrade. There will be less data for the script to update, and the new version is much easier to set up. We'll be discussing all the improvements in depth in some articles tomorrow, but the VaultWiki Manual now incorporates most of these (see Namespace Manager).
