Undefined property: vw_DM_Special_Controller Error

Error Upgrading VW 4.1.0 Beta 2 to 4.1.6

I get this error when running the upgrade script to go from 4.1.0 Beta 2 to 4.1.6 in XF 2.2.12. (Disabled VW, uploaded files, enabled VW, click on Upgrade button, starts running, error)

Any ideas?

It looks like this can occur if anyone or the upgrade script edits a Special page since 4.1.6. That version fixed some issues with custom field caching, but the fix doesn't appear to play perfectly well with Special pages in newer PHP versions.

In src/addons/vw/vw/_core/controller/dm/node/vw.php, find:
