      Category Hierarchy
Categories need to fully support hierarchical structures.

The ability to have categories of categories provides the basic capability needed for an hierarchical structure, but the linear display of the categories makes it difficult/impossible to visualize the hierarchy. It would be good to have a display structure that showed category relationships in a graphical way.

Since multiple categorization is common for articles (and categories), it would be good to have alternate views that could be selected by clicking on a node or some similar mechanism.

This request is related to the earlier taxonomy discussion, but has been brought to the front by the person who will be managing the architecture of our wiki content. He feels the need for a stronger organizing tool.

Category parent- and child- lists are stored in the database in VaultWiki 4.x. There will be a few interfaces that utilize this hierarchy (attachment organizers, template organizers, breadcrumbs), so I'm marking this as complete.

Just to update this, this feature ended up being removed, because of performance implications (possible infinite loops and exponential querying). Similar effects can be achieved without storing cached parent- and child- lists.
