editing a subsection in demo

Try to go to Section4 and hit [edit] ... when you add text ... it appears in a location other than this section.

This might be more my poor understanding of the syntax vs. a bug

The option [H=X] has to be a number. You entered text.

However, the parser should have noticed that you made an invalid entry and attempted to workaround it. Fixed that part for the next build.
