Issue: Image update problem

I created an image for the notification message to use in documenting message services for our users. As an edit, I decided to use the dropdown list in addition to the notice box and created a new GIF file to put in the article.

The old image displays in the article and I cannot get it to change. I have deleted it and re-entered it. I have changed the display parameters. I have flushed cache and rebuilt both namespaces. I am at a loss of what to do short of deleting the original image and creating one with a different name.

I thought the whole point of an image namespace was that the images could be edited and improved examples deployed over time. Did I misunderstand how this is supposed to work?
