      Can't Use + in Wiki Article Title
      Can't Use + in Wiki Article Title, even with the encoded characters

      I've tried using a + in a title, but it turns it into a space.

      I tried the encoding %2B but though it opens the article correctly with the + in the title box, when the article is finally submitted, it removes the +.

      Still trying to work this out. The edit I posted earlier causes other problems and should not be used.

      Just been playing with this. Getting a slightly odd result.

      It works fine, in that the title is properly named in the URL when you load the article, but... the actual article title says %2b as opposed to %2B. It seems it decapitalizes it. The URL link shows the %2B.

      Then, the article title in the top of the screen shows nothing.

      So, in short:

      URL Link says: %2B
      URL in Browser when viewing article: +
      Article Title in Forumdisplay: %2b
      Article Title in Brower Window: (blank)

      Yeah there were still some problems with URL encoding that were solved when we fixed the issue with prefixes.

      This should be fixed in the next build. You may need to edit the affected articles again after upgrading.

      Thanks matey. I assume the edit is on the title? Or will any type of edit suffice?

      You will probably need to edit the title, as the encoding is most likely incorrect.

      Still getting issues with this.

      Renaming the title doesn't work, it complains there's already an existing article. But when you go to the link, it doesn't actually show the proper name still. In the list view, there's the %2b. Every time I change the 'b' to a 'B', the title corrects it and reduces it to lower case.

      Running 2.3.1.

      Link please?

      You should be changing the %2b to +, not to %2B. This should work in 2.3.1. It's possible that a copy of the article was created when you tried this in a previous build, so now you have 2 articles with the same title, which is throwing the "existing article" error. You will need to delete one of the copies (please check that there are no comments or anything you would regret losing on the one you choose).

      This encoding issue will be rendered obsolete in 3.x, which only permits alphanumeric characters and +, -, _ as spaces (configurable). Different strings are used for the title versus the URL.

      Ok, more info.

      That article in question is here:

      http://www.thexuniverse.com/forum/sh...hp?title=M3%2B

      Basically, I can get it to create the + in the title now, as you said. But every time I try and add content to the article, it creates a new article, or edits the existing one by omitting the + symbol.

      The article has no content, and won't allow me to add any.

      Any suggestions on solving this?

      Before we started working on 3.x, we had an article called "Title + + Sign (DVD)" located here:
      http://www.crackedeggstudios.com/vau...Title-Sign-DVD
      As you can see there is a new URL format that avoids this kind of issue. However, we were able to create and edit that article without issue before the new URL, which is what confuses me about your troubles.

      I will try to create a new article as a test on your site later tonight.

      In vault/special_plugins.php, find:
      PHP Code:
      urldecode($vbulletin->GPC[$vbulletin->options['ces_titlevar']])
      Replace with:
      PHP Code:
      $vbulletin->GPC[$vbulletin->options['ces_titlevar']]
