      Nav bar drop down contents
Where is the control by usergroup for the drop down list

I am trying to introduce Vault Wiki to the general users of our message board. Because the board has a long history, I am trying to ease them into the new structures. The drop down in the nav bar like your The Vault above provides a direct link to the default namespace for me, but does not for my users. I suspect yours works the same since I do not see the wiki articles in the drop down, only the book, special page and recent changes.

Why is the full article list there for the admin and not for regular users? I cannot find the element that controls this.

btw I noticed that you are now running 2.3.0. Is it considered unstable? 2.2.3 pl1 is the latest distribution.

The navbar drop down shows different links depending on your user's permissions. A user loses permission to see the thread list when a main page is created losing Forum Link. Once this happens:
      1. Having this "(List)" link tends to confuse users.
      2. A thread list is no longer the ideal presentation of your wiki content.
      3. Users can create new articles just using the drop-down.
      4. The main page should link to most things in the thread list.
      5. The thread list becomes useful mainly moderation actions that users cannot perform.

2.3.0 is considered stable, but it has not yet been released as we still have to test the new install/upgrade process a bit more.

The problem is that my Forum Home is already quite long so many users never see the bottom of it. I liked the idea that the List Link would just bounce them down there.

As you may have noticed we are using Forum Names for another kind of category as container to simulate forums. The containers mirror our current forums because they all need to be inside of default for auto linking. I still have not worked out a good intuitive structure for all this.

The books and categories are the best navigation tools for the wiki from a functional sense, but my users don't know what those are and will be at least 6 months learning. Folks in their 70's learn a little more slowly than younger people. Some of them don't understand why we are not just writing our articles on Wikipedia and pointing to them with URL's.

I suppose we can quickly add an option in the Namespace Manager for this.

Simply laxed up these permissions. It's essentially the canview permission now. If anyone wants to be harder on it, they can use their own $show variable and modify the templates.
