      HELP with a button
If the help code is assigned to a button the option is required, not optional

When using the help bb code in text by typing it, the value of the parameter is the article name in the Help Namespace.

I created a button for Help but it does not function correctly. When it puts up the window for the option, leaving the option value blank discards the action and does not wrap the selected text in help tags.

The idea behind my help button was to easily document how to ask for help for use by newcomers to our site. Typing the help codes or knowing to enter the word or phrase you would like defined in the option dialog is more that I want them to have to do.

Sorry, but this is more a complaint with how vBulletin handles BB-Codes with options. This has to do with the editor JS. This is not a part of VaultWiki. Try using the URL tag the same way and you will see.

If you wish, you can disable the option for the HELP code via vBulletin's custom BB-Code Manager. AdminCP -> Custom BB Codes -> BB Code Manager. I am not sure, but this may result in the behavior you are looking for, while still leaving the option optional. Let me know.

Dropping the ={option} in the definition has no effect.

I was hoping it would work like some of the edit controls or at least look at the empty option box and take the argument default.

Why could it not be coded with the %1\$s like comment and redirect?

Oops I forgot the radio button

It does work to remove the option argument and set the radio button. I think I can live with the option not being available.

I will check to see if I can use the radio button to leave the argument off when clicking the button, but still allow the help article name to be specified as [help="Subject Matter"]Some stuff[/help].

      Tolerance request

The function is working as I wanted, but when one double clicks a word in the editor, the trailing blank comes along. Since the namespace reference does not ignore the whitespace, it does not find an existing article.

Am I correct in understanding that with the radio button set to "No", it will still allow the article name specified as [help="Subject Matter"]Some stuff[/help]?
