      Wikified forum link issues

      I have issues where search results links to wiki or island configured forums show up like this:

      Code:
      http://geekhack.org/.php?=&highlight=M10+killing+wrists
      Various other links to threads/comments in wikified forums drop the "showwiki" portion of "showwiki.php". Is this a known issue?

      Usually happens when you haven't clicked "[Rebuild All Namespaces]" in the Namespace Manager since installing or changing something very important.

      In a nutshell, I have three forums that I would like changed from traditional forums to island wiki's. The nature of these three forums (reviews, mods, etc) is that the first post is the primary content and the others are simply discussion points (PERFECT for a wiki-like forum). However, every time I switch them to a wiki (either an island or a wiki), links are broken, and it simply does not work (as detailed above).

      I just tried again and had the same issues (and rebuilt all the namespaces after making the change). Is the fact that these forums existed previously a problem? I'm really starting to pull my hair out...so any help/direction/etc would be greatly appreciated.

      Can you give an example of how you are attempting to create the link? What code you are using, etc? Is the link in one of these islands to a traditional wiki? Or is the link to one of the island wikis?

      I'm talking about the typical "links" that are inherit in a normal vB template...The link from the main page that directs you to the last post (or comment, in this case)...The links to individual articles from within the island forum (".php" without the "showwiki" portion).

      What I will do is create one of these islands for you to look at. I'll leave it up until tomorrow morning. It'll be named something obvious (on http://geekack.org).

      (named "Test Island") Populated it with three threads and several replies/comments. Then changed it to an island and rebuilt all namespaces. All the funky behavior (which makes it unusable), is present.

      Since I cannot reproduce this here, I'm flying a little blind. Try this - in vault/special_class_wiki.php, find:
      PHP Code:
      $urlinfo['namespace'] AND $namespace != $urlinfo['namespace']
      Replace with:
      PHP Code:
      !isset($namespace) OR $namespace != $urlinfo['namespace']
      Let me know if that helps.

      Interesting. That seems to have done the trick!

      I'll convert my three forums I want over to islands and see how it goes.

      One problem remaining. When a forum is set to an island, no one can create a new thread/article. (however when set back to a forum or to a wiki (with an associated namespace), they can create artilcles just fine)).

      They cannot create a new article if they do not have permission to edit articles. They need create AND edit permissions. This was a previously reported bug that will be fixed in an upcoming build.

      They DO have permission to create AND edit. And, also, I just noticed that this issue is with the general wiki pages as well.

      Are these permissions enabled via Forum Permissions (forum-by-forum basis), or Usergroup Permissions (globally)?

      You will more than likely need to install the latest Patch Level (2.2.3 PL1) to correct this issue, and after doing so Rebuild your Forum Information using vBulletin's Maintenance -> Update Counters.

      I upgraded to 2.2.3 PL1 a couple of days ago. The permissions are set globally via usergroup permissions.

      I'd be more than happy to grant you access to take a look if you'd be willing (make sure I'm not missing something).

      Thanks, as you mentioned above, this occurs for Island wikis. Not sure how we missed this, since we have several of our own, but I've been able to reproduce it now. I'll let you know what we find.
