      There are 75,499,951 nodes in the database.

      Wiki statistics

      There are 75,499,951 total nodes in the database. This includes templates, redirects, and others that probably don't qualify as real content. Excluding those, there are 2,104 items that are probably legitimate content nodes.

      What are these fake nodes that the statistics page mentions?
      This really should not be visible on a public page because it offers no information that the average reader can comprehend.

      This is probably a counting error. I will look into it.

      It looks like the total node-count was incorrectly including the number of edits as though they were entire pages. In vault/core/view/ui/special/data/statistics/vw.php, find:
      Code:
      $stats['total'] += $number;
      Before it, add:
      Code:
      if ($key != 'editcount')

      Node count is still incorrect. Current statistics look like this:

      There are 75,533,142 total nodes in the database. This includes templates, redirects, and others that probably don't qualify as real content. Excluding those, there are 2,109 items that are probably legitimate content nodes.

      There have been a total of 75,292,591 page views, and 18,104 page edits since the wiki was setup. That comes to 8.49 average edits per page, and 4,158.89 views per edit.

      Should the statics have meaning to the average reader? If yes, then I think its best to change it to:

      Pages:
      Edits:
      Templates:
      Redirects:
      Translations:
      Attachments:
      Views:

      That will provide a clear overview. I think the average reader does not know what nodes means nor are they able to understand the text. Approximates and guestimates are not useful and only confuse.
