Contribution totals & guest?

How do I rebuild the contribution totals & who is this guest that's everywhere?

On the wiki/&title=Special:MostContributions page:

When I click details on my 1214 contributions it brings up 7. I know the rest are from an import that we deleted shortly after. How can I rebuild the totals?

Also who is this "Guest"?

There is not currently a tool that will let you rebuild the contribution counts. There are a number of factors that go into this number, so it's not as simple as counting rows. I will see if I can work on one.

There is another problem here that you have not mentioned: when you deleted the content, it did not reduce your contribution count. I will try to reproduce this and see if it's a bug.

If it says "Guest" the page was either edited by a guest or it was edited by someone who no longer has an account (deleted / deactivated). You can get more information on who that may be by visiting the History tab for that article.

That's what I figured on the counts, all the content I imported & was deleted. Will ignore till recount is added.

For the guest, I think there's something more at play here. We've had this wiki restricted to only 4-5 people @ start (though recently opened to the site) and from the start we've had guest appearing. Here's history of the second page in the screenshot above & only edits are from user mf22:

I should add we don't allow guests to view the wiki & no accounts have been deleted who've edited the wiki.

I see the problem with the "Guest" entry. Until it can be fixed in the next release, edit vault/core/view/factory/listitem/vw.php. Find:

Before it, add:

When I make test pages with multiple edits, then delete those pages, my contribution count decreases as expected. I wonder if your contributions still exist in the database somewhere in an orphaned state.

If you look in the database at your vw_page table manually, are there an unexpected number of rows?

Thanks for the edit, applied & will post back with any issues.

I have 242 records in the vw_page table & that sounds right.

2 are listed as created by my user so I don't believe that's it.

In the next release, there is a new tool: Wiki Admin Panel > Maintenance > Rebuild Counters / Caches > User Contribution Counts.

There are a lot of different counters, but mostly you want to rebuild: New Synonyms, then Edits / General Contributions.
