Partial regression: Display views & number of articles in category (Area view)

There are two values that measure how important a category is: views and the number or articles in a category.
For article pages the number of views shows popularity.

Yet, none of these two values are visible on the categories list / area view. Which makes it impossible to know from this page what the most valuable/interesting categories & pages are are.
There is plenty of space available to show these statistics. Views used to be displayed on VW3, so that is a regression.

Please add this small tweak to an upcoming version. If not as standard then as an option/setting. It would make browsing wiki categories more intuitive.

This has been implemented for 4.0.10. See our area views here. One example: https://www.vaultwiki.org/pages/Category
But every area should have it in some form.

I am not sure what I am seeing. See: https://www.vaultwiki.org/pages/Category?do=list
Are these the number of pages or the number of views?
Why do some have a different icon? What does it mean?

The different icons are the different content types inside. If you hover over the icon, it will tell you. For example, a category might have 4 sub-categories and 50 regular pages. So you will see:
      [category icon] 4
      [page icon] 50

I am not sure why view counts aren't showing on that list. I will have a look.

So there's a problem when a node-level page (like a category or a book) contains a lot of non-standard types, or when a regular page has views, edits, discussions, and comments. The height of the row starts getting unmanageable. Unfortunately the horizontal space under the article title is already used by tags, which are more in need of horizontal space than stats, so we need to figure something out for the long stat sets (4 or more). So there's a few other tweaks I'd like to make before release.

If you have customized templates, you might need to update some. Go to AdminCP > Appearance > Styles & Templates > Outdated Templates.
