Since 4.1.x, the priority has been that new features are generally restricted to XenForo 2 installations, with vBulletin 4 mostly receiving maintenance updates.
Since VaultWiki 4 launched, there has been little demand for support in newer vBulletin versions. Most of our vBulletin users moved to other platforms, such as XenForo. Our web sites have all slowly moved to XenForo 2. On top of that:
- vBulletin has had an open ticket with Google that prevents anyone from using the keyword "vBulletin" except them. We had tried contacting Google/vBulletin about it. Google said we had to go through the ticket opener for approval, who no longer worked for vBulletin at that time.
- vBulletin closed their modifications site vBulletin.org rather than updating it.
- These 2 together makes advertising vBulletin support in a way users will find extremely difficult
I'm not sure if/when we would phase out support for vBulletin completely, but XenForo is already the only one getting new features.
