      Creating Category Issue

Within the admin CP side I'm trying to create a new section or even sub-section within a category, after setting options and title I click "save" and the page refreshes back to the same page only everything has been reset. I also get this from the wiki side as well and am not able to add new categories to the wiki.

I assume you are talking about the Area Manager, not categories. If I click "Add Area", I can only get the page to refresh when I click Save by entering an error, like a value for Title that was already used by another area/wiki page. However, when I do this, most of the options I selected before still show the choices I made (nothing was reset). The only thing that is unchecked is the Parsing Options, which have numbers instead of the descriptions.

When the page refreshes, at the top you will probably see a section called "Errors" and "The following problems were found with your submission:"

What errors does it tell you?

Sorry, yes the Area management section.

After the refresh nothing appears at the top, it appears just as you would clicking on add new.

Please check Admin > Tools > Logs > Server Error Logs for anything unusual. Also, try using Chrome's developer tools while attempting this. Open the dev tools Network tab and try to click Save in the Area Manager. Find the POST to admin.php?wiki/ on the dev tools Network tab, and please PM me the contents of the corresponding Request and Response tabs so that I can see what happens with the data when you click the Save button.

If you are unable to do this, or no POST to admin.php?wiki/ takes place, then you may have to submit a ticket in the Members area so we can investigate.

It looks like the form is submitting to the correct place, but it looks like your server is catching the request and resubmitting it via GET (notice the initial 301 status).

VaultWiki does not use 301 status for admin redirects.

There are a number of possibilities, but the most likely one is this:
      - Your server's .htaccess or other configuration is capturing the request and sending a 301 status. Since the path portion of the URL is unchanged between the 301 and the 200, I suspect it is a rule that redirects one domain to another, like www.yourdomain to just yourdomain. Make sure that the correct base URL is set in Options > VaultWiki: Site Config > Wiki Base URL.

Seems to have fixed the problem. Had had a redirect set up for a long time that for some reason was the problem. Removed it and now am able to create new area's now.
