Template pulling wrong PAGENAME variable

I created a simple infobox template and included [*var]PAGENAME[/var] in it. However, when I pull the template into a page, it replaces PAGENAME with the name of the template instead of the name of the page it was placed on.

Can it be fixed so that variables placed on templates look at the variable of the page the template is called on?

The content should read: Pagename test
Instead it reads: Pagename

Pagename test uses a simple template called "Pagename" with the following contents:

Fixed in the next build.

In vault/core/model/parser/sideways/template/xf.php, find and remove:

Code:

$this->_parser->item = $template;

As far as I can tell this code is completely unnecessary where scoping the template is concerned. It's possible it is leftover from a really early version of the templater in VW3 that may have borrowed code from VW3's synonym system.

After making this change you may have to clear the wiki's post cache before you can see the corrected behavior.
