      Wiki Sidebar Blocks Not Showing
      Despite configuration suggesting they should, wiki sidebar blocks are missing

      Since upgrading to 4.0 Build 002, it seems my wiki sidebar blocks have gone missing.

      The relevant configuration/permissions hasn't changed from what it was before ("Any" selected for the Wiki root and all Areas, a;l permissions "Yes"), but now the sidebar blocks don't show at all anywhere.

      Moreover, I've tried tweaking the sidebar block configuration to, say, clear any cache or whatever, but still they remain unshown even though configuration is such that they should.

      This is already fixed in build 003. The upgrade script past 4.0.0 RC 2, as well as the direct installer, had saved an empty value to the sidebar cache. Users who already upgraded can resolve the issue by editing any sidebar block in the Admin Panel and clicking "Save" without changes to re-populate the cache.

      Hmmm, I just upgraded my beta site from 3.0.20 to 4.0.0 (vaultwiki_400b3) on a 4.2.2 vB site.
      I have tried the suggestions mentioned here and I am not seeing any sidebar let alone blocks.

      Regards,
      Rick

      Ok, I went and turned a sidebar block from Active to Inactive and back, and that seemed to clear up the issues. Now I'm seeing sidebar blocks as before/expected.
      Thanks!

      In the Admin Panel, go to Content > Sidebar Blocks, and click "Modify Permissions". Make sure they are set to Yes.

      In the Admin Panel, go to Settings > Content Types, and check "Wiki Index Sidebar Blocks".

      Also, if you just imported from VW3, check Structures > Area Manager and edit one of the areas. Let me know whether any are checked in Miscellaneous Options > Sidebar Blocks Shown in this Area. It might be that imported areas are not getting a default value for this field.

      Modify Permissions was the working answer, their defaults were all unset so no was the default.

      Sidebar Blocks Shown was set to any.

      The column now shows up, but at the bottom of the wiki page instead of the side.

      Interesting as Vaultwiki is about the only product I have with no modified templates!

      Regards,
      Rick

      Can you post a link to a public wiki page where the sidebar is at the bottom?

      Hopefully this will help. My Site is the first one and your current site 4.0.0 RC5 is the 2nd.
      It is the output from firebug. I noticed that the <aside> is outside the vw-block-container div
      on our site. I have not modified any vaultwiki templates.
      Code:
      My Site:
      <div id="yui_3_17_2_1_1420743782188_53" class="body_wrapper">
         <div id="breadcrumb" class="breadcrumb">

      Additional info the the above. I have noticed that the sidebar is displayed correctly
      on every wiki tab except "Page". For example, it displays correctly in the editor.
      I tried an almost empty page and it did the same thing so it doesn't seem to have
      anything to do with article content.

      Regards,
      Rick

      You're correct that the HTML on your site is wrong.

      Do you use vBOptimise on your site? You might have to reset its cache.

      It's possible you're still using an old version of the vw_node_shell template, that a template merge went wrong, that you use replacement variables, that another mod likes moving ASIDE tags around, or any number of other things. Unfortunately I would have no idea why without being able to look at your site. You can submit a Support Ticket if the issue is that important to you.

      More Info. We don't use vBOptimise. I don't think we would have an old version as this is
      the first install of Version 4 VW on this system.

      The new info is that if I create a new page, copy the content from an imported page,
      paste it into the new page and save, the view is correct with the sidebar on the right. I was
      noticing that the problem only occurs for the articles that were imported.

      If you like I can give you access to my beta site. How should I get the info to you?

      Regards,
      Rick

      That issue is now fixed. There was a conflict with one of the templates and the vBulletin setting: General Settings > Add Template Name in HTML Comments. We had to treat the value of this setting as if it was disabled when evaluating the conflicting template.

      Hi Pegasus!

      I got your 3 emails this morning and everything is looking
      pretty good now! Thank you for your help.

      As far as the sidebar fix, what will I need to do to install it
      on the production system? Was there a file edit I will need?

      Thank you again for your great help!
      Rick

      In vault/core/view/factory/content/versioned/vw.php, find:
      Code:
      $templater = vw_Hard_Core::fetch_template('vw_node_contribs');
      After it, add:
      Code:
      $templater->set_comments(true);
