      vB4 vaultwiki 3 to 4 upgrade

      Hi there,
We're in the process of upgrading from VaultWiki version 3 to version 4. Unfortunately, we're not even getting as far as the install screen. We're using 5.3.10. When we try to access vault/install/index.php, we receive the following error:

      Code:
E_USER_ERROR Error in file »vw.php« at line 131: Configuration: Could not determine the appropriate dirs.core path in /vault/core/model/vw.php. I'm not sure how you can get this error message. This message only triggers if vw_Hard_Core::set_dir is given an empty string. On its own, VaultWiki will catch an empty string and use / instead, unless you manually override this behavior.

I suppose you can trigger this error if you have created a vw_config.php file where you have manually set VW_DEPOT_PATH to an empty string, or VW_DEPOT_PATH is completely missing from the file.

If you have a vw_config.php file in your forum root, what values do you have set?

If you don't have vw_config.php, I can't think of another thing that could cause this problem without having a look at your configuration. You can submit a request for Ticket Support here: https://www.vaultwiki.org/members/?d...e&productid=20

Nope. No vw_config.php file. We're not doing an install on a subdomain. Is it possible it could be caused by something in the wordpress install above the forums?

I will go submit that ticket now. Thank you.

This occurred because you had modified VW_DEPOT_PATH in /vault/config.php and had set it to the value that didn't exist (auto_determined_path/manual_entered_path, rather than just manual_entered_path). This value is corrected now and you should be able to run the installer.

VaultWiki should be able to detect when an invalid path is manually entered as of the next release and will try to auto-detect instead.

Unfortunately, we're getting the same error. What was the value you changed it to? Did you log into the server that ends in 9? I realized the servers might be out of sync and whatever change you made isn't consistent across. So, I want to make sure I don't delete the fix and make it consistent across.

I removed the dirname(__FILE__) bit and just used the part of the path you entered manually.

It still doesn't seem to be resolved. But, let me get this sync issue resolved first and I'll be back.
