      Editor should use Font-Awesome

Redactor uses Font-Awesome for all its buttons. Vaultwiki still inserts images into it. This should not be. It looks out of place and adds (some) unnecessary load time. Images should be avoided anywhere possible.
There are plenty of icons to choose from. All major xenforo addons use Font-Awesome for the editor and other locations. VaultWiki already uses FA so why not implement in the editor as well?

I have changed this from a bug to an improvement request:

Since Font-Awesome is brought up again, I want to bring up something that happened after our last switch from status icons to Font-Awesome. We got complaints from users who already had modified status icons (by uploading them to the icon directory). When it was explained that it was now possible to modify the look of the icons via CSS, many did not know how to modify CSS to do this, even if only to replace the font character with their previous custom icon image.

It was overlooked when we made that switch and seems to be overlooked in many discussions about implementing Font-Awesome in anything: there is a marked difference in technical expertise:
      1. Editing an image in a graphic design program and uploading it in FTP.
      vs
      2. Modifying CSS background properties and/or unicode entities.

The second requires knowledge of CSS. I am wary to simply switch more icons to Font-Awesome without considering a path for these users or developing some sort of tool to make management of Font-Awesome icons easier. This verges on needing an entire new feature developed, even outside the scope of what's already available via XenForo's Style Property system.

Yes, thats a good point. But Redactor only uses Font-Awesome. No image files. So in this case Vaultwiki is not consistent with its use of redactor. There should be much less of a change here. Plus people can easily select another Font-Awesome icon. (if you add instructions to the manual)

Unfortunately after looking into this, I have come to the conclusion that Redactor does NOT use Font-Awesome. It uses image files that look like Font-Awesome characters, at least in the implementation that XenForo currently uses. If a newer version of Redactor actually uses the characters directly, XenForo is not using that version or has customized it to use images instead. Thus there would be no real benefit of "switching to Font-Awesome" in the editor aside from changing some of the current icons to look more Font-Awesome (I like the Puzzle-piece better than a stencil-that-looks-like-pizza for TEMPLATE). But they would still be image files.
