Rename vault/core/controller/import/config/vw.php.new to vault/core/controller/import/config/vw.php. I trust you already edited it if the data's in a different database.

Marked as Fixed in the next release. If the .new file has not been renamed, a default config will be used instead, and the source data will be assumed to exist in the same database.

Its not a big deal, but the current way of handling is not very intuitive. Pretty much all importers in vb, xf and IPB let you enter the details into the admin panel and do a check for validity.
