      XenForo Resource Manager Support

The XenForo Resource Manager will be released on the 26th.

Please add support for the XF RM so that the RM can have a wiki tab and display a wiki under it.
      Example: http://xenforo.com/community/resourc...ystem-tms.293/
There are currently 5 tabs. Please add a 6th tab for wiki.

To be added after XenForo integration is fully completed ofcourse.

... so that the RM can have a wiki tab

      Logical idea.
Should increase sales as many people will want vaultwiki in the Resource Manager.

Should actually be really easy to implement... Assuming it would function similar to the rest of the wiki (and not like groups which gave the group members special permissions). In this case, we would just need to add a handler to UI/Integrate for the RM (identify that we are viewing an RM page) and have it inject as a tab rather than a forum header.

It would also be nice to display snippets from the wiki on the RM overview tab. Similar to how the overview tab now shows a X number of reviews, X number of recent updates on the overview tab.

The new release of resource manager 1.1 introduces custom fields and tabs: http://xenforo.com/community/threads...-fields.59872/
This makes it easier to add a Wiki tab to the resource manager. It can be set on a category basis. It seems to me that its a matter of injecting a forum header into a custom field.

However, I would like my existing wiki pages to be added to the resource manager.

It should also be possible to display a snippet of the wiki on the overview tab.

Unless the custom fields are on the category level (for turning headers on/off), using a custom field may not be necessary, since header associations are stored in a separate table. The ability to create custom tabs may make the integration easier from a development standpoint, though.

As for using existing pages, this can already be accomplished everywhere else forum headers are implemented, so I don't see an RM integration behaving any differently in that regard.

XenForo is finally starting to look stable on Beta 6, at least from the volume of reports versus Beta 5, so we might start seeing new XenForo-related features like this again soon.

Probably not that soon. But a feature like this would be well worth the wait. I know my users would love it if they could provide a decent wiki page with info pertaining to their releases on the RM. It would also make it easier for the average joe to understand what each release is and what it does, other than a basic overview description.

The feature list for VW4 includes:
      • Forum headers can be extended to other forum pages easily (thread headers, profile headers, project headers, blog category headers, and more)
      • Use any wiki page as a forum header, not just Header: pages

It seems to me that we are only a tiny step from implementation of this important function.

This function is going to be included in the first release of 4.1.x.
      - In the normal "Wiki Content Integration Locations" setting, "XFRM Resources" must be turned on.
      - In the XFRM admin page for Resource Fields, create a new field (name it whatever you want). You will see a new "Field Type" for "Wiki page as a tab"; the "Display Location" must be "Its Own Tab".
      - Edit the appropriate XFRM Categories and add the field to the category.
      - When creating/editing a resource, the field will show the familiar Javascript page-chooser.
      - If a page is selected, it will appear as a tab.

With this approach, you can have multiple/different wiki-tabs per resource (such as a product page, a documentation page, or just related information), or different kinds of wiki-tabs for different XFRM categories.

Of course, normal non-tab integrations are also possible for categories and resources, but they don't rely on resource-fields.

This is not complete yet as it still needs more work on XF2, but the XF1 version seems to be working well.
