      Error message after upgrade
      Error line: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '*'

      Hi,

      after uploading the files for 3.0.20 I get the following messages in my forum as well as during the upgrade script:

      Code:
      Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '*' in /***/vault/tools/install_functions_vb4.php on line 32
      In the upgrade script it happens when it tries to import the newest plugins.

      A fast help would be great. I have vbSEO installed but I guess this is not related to this issue.

      Ueli

      I don't see anything syntactically wrong with the file you downloaded. Please post the code from line 32 that it is referring to.

      This is actually the error message on the site which is might related to the error in the install file:
      Code:
      Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_IS_IDENTICAL in /***/vault/class/friendlyurl.php on line 309
      This shows up also if I try to login in the upgrade script. I have to tunr off plugins first to make it work.

      Line 32 looks like this in my file:
      Code:
      /* License */* License */
      Could there be a "*" too much?

      I don't know why but that line's contents are wrong. It should just be:
      Code:
      /* License */
      There was probably a connection reset during the upload to your server, and the last-transferred bytes of any pending uploads could have been duplicated. You might want to download a fresh package and re-upload all the files, since this may have occurred in more than one.

      Well, next error:
      Code:
      Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_IS_IDENTICAL in /***/vault/admin/template.php on line 592
      Similar to the one I get on the site. Can still only start when disabling hooks, logging in for update script and before updating re-enabling hooks.

      Did you reupload the files? Because if you are getting that, it means the end of that file was messed up also. Again, I see no problem with the file that is posted in the Members area for you. If the files on your server don't match the files in the ZIP, you need to upload them again.

      If you continue to get errors on different files, please compare the line on your server with the line in the ZIP. If they are not the same, you need to upload the file again. If they continue uploading wrong, you may have a problem with your file system or transfer process, and you should get in touch with a server admin.
