The edit tab should be directly visible to entice users to contribute (regression) VW4A

Its important that if a user has editing permission, the user can see an 'edit' tab to start contributing.
Currently its tucked away under options. This will lead to less contributions / activity.

I agree with this, but my concern is that the tabs would then exceed 50% of the page's width on some do=X (the open tab is pulled out of the drop-down, as I'm sure you've noticed).

The whole reason we added the menus is to reduce the clutter created by the tabs that was taking away from the content presentation. Perhaps we can eliminate the Watch tab entirely and move the control to a different spot, but I believe that that too needs to be prominent.

Why not reduce the width of the open tabs with 50% or match the width of the mother tab?
Why not combine view and options into one drop down? This gives room for the edit tab.

Hope to have the Edit tab ready within the next 24 hours, the UI save/edit actions are about 50% converted to use the new UI stack that was added 6 weeks ago.

Editor looks like it's ready. I will do some preliminary testing in the morning. If it goes well, expect to be able to edit existing articles tomorrow.

Worked out the fatal bugs in the editor. I'll be enabling it for everyone momentarily, just want to fix one thing that's annoying me about the parsed page output.

Pages are now open for editing.

As for the OP, I've moved Edit out of the Options tab, but I think we're going to do away with tabs completely before gold, as per: https://www.vaultwiki.org/issues/1834/
