      Uploaded images do not appear in articles

      So this is what I do:

      I choose Upload new file, enter earth.jpg as a Title and then proceed to upload earth.jpg using the Manage Attachments option. I then add 2 characters in the text box as this is the requirement and finally I post the article.

      Then I go to a random Wiki Article in the Main section and write
      Code:
      [image]earth.jpg[/image]
      Then I save the Article but the image is not visible.

      What am I doing wrong?

      I paid for this product and I'm disappointed by the support I receive - 1 week and still no answer, not even "We are looking into it" or "Please supply some additional information"

      This one is really boggling my mind. Okay, first: when you say the image is not visible, which of the following is occurring:
      • The BB-Code appears as raw text
      • The BB-Code parses, but shows as an empty box where the image should be
      • The BB-Code parses, but shows as a link
      • The BB-Code doesn't seem to produce any output, but viewing the page HTML reveals something
      • The BB-Code doesn't produce any output whatsoever

      Do you have another BB-Code on your forum named "image"?
      When you view the earth.jpg article, does the uploaded image appear on the page there?

      I believe it is this one: The BB-Code doesn't seem to produce any output, but viewing the page HTML reveals something
      The source reveals this:
      Code:
      <!-- message -->
                  <div class="vw-text" id="post_message_527293"><div class="thumb tleft" style="display: inline"><a href="http://www.bghelp.co.uk/wiki/Image:earth.jpg" class="internal" title=""><img border="0" src="attachment.php?postid=54398&amp;stc=1&amp;fromvw=1" alt="" /></a></div><br /></div>
                  <!-- / message -->
      And then I tried to add the "attachment.php?postid=54398&amp;stc=1&amp;fromvw=1" manually to the URL of the wiki such as http://www.bghelp.co.uk/wiki/attachm...stc=1&fromvw=1 but it gives me this error:

      The article could not be found. Additionally, an invalid forum was detected for the namespace (id: 6) when attempting to create the article.

      Visit the Forum Manager in the AdminCP and make sure the Top-Level Forum (specified in the Namespace Manager) has "Enable wiki in this forum?" set to "Wiki."

      I don't think we do. These are what we have:

      I realize some are doubled and I will delete the duplicates. The Image tag was also doubled but I deleted the second one. It didn't help.

      Yes, it does.

      I can give you access to the Wiki to check it out if necessary.

      Thank you.

      It seems that the Image BB-Code doesn't work at all under vBulletin 3. Its version of attachment.php exits prematurely if the attachmentid isn't part of the URL and we get a 404 error. I don't know how in the past 4 years of this feature, no one reported that. Anyway, I have fixed it on your installation and made the appropriate changes to the next release.

      Marking as Fixed for the next build.

      Thank you for the swift reply, appreciate it.

      Btw, is there a way to disable the linking of the image to the Image article? To remove this <a href="http://www.bghelp.co.uk/wiki/Image:earth.jpg" class="internal" title=""> so that the image cannot be clicked and the user can't be taken to the Image namespace.

      IIRC you can set the link of the image to another page using |link=Article Name, but I don't think there is a way to get rid of the link completely.
