      The first time you use the footnote do:
      Code:
      [footnote=footnote_name]...[/footnote]
      To reuse the same one, do:
      Code:
      [footnote=footnote_name][/footnote]
      Note how the second has no content or spaces. By design, this SHOULD do what you want.

      Would it be possible to automate it so that identical footnotes are referenced together? Also, I generally stick footnotes as just a source URL, is there a way for these to render as clickable links like when you post a URL in a standard post?

      By design, identical footnotes are referenced together if they have been given the same ID as described in my previous post. If you include a source URL as the content of the footnote, it should automatically render as a link, unless you disabled this functionality in the editor view.

      Keep in mind that footnotes will always only render as a number. To show the full content, you still need to invoke the [reflist] BB-Code.

      Sorry to bump an older thread. This isn't working for me. If I put some text in the second footnote code, it does insert an "a b" to the actual footnote but where I want it, the number is 1 instead of 3 (in my case)

      Can you link to an article with this problem, or post it in our demo?

      I couldn't get the footnotes to work in the demo. The article is here:

      If you look at the Headers, I put footnotes on Forms, Payment, Document Not in English and then I wanted the same footnote on Original Documents as the Document Not in English. I had to put a &nbsp for the footnote to even appear and it appears as a 1.

      Thanks for letting me know about the footnotes not working here. They were switched off for some reason.

      To fix your issue, edit vault/class/bbcode.php. Find:
      Code:
      				if ($info['refname'] != $option)
      Replace with:
      Code:
      				if ($info['refname'] !== $option)
