      All imported (MediaWiki) articles attributed to ME

      Hello. I recently attempted to migrate all of our wiki data to VaultWiki from a MediaWiki installation (Which was integrated with vBulletin). The import appears to have worked fine, but all articles and revisions (and everything) are listed as having been created by my user account and not the user who actually performed the action.

      Is this the intended action or did something go wrong?

      What were you using to integrate it with vBulletin?

      VaultWiki 3.0.11 attributes articles and revisions to users if the username is the same (ids won't match across databases). If it can't find a matching username it will just attribute it to the admin who ran the importer.

      I've just looked into our media wiki database, and it definitely has the proper usernames in the tables there. Not sure why they didn't move over correctly.

      I definitely don't want them attributed to me, though, since I do no work with the wiki on our website.

      Oops, sorry. Was looking at the upcoming ZIP, not the current one. Yes, this was a bug in 3.0.11. I have updated the current ZIP, so you can download it again (make sure to download all files). Once you've done this, you should be able to perform a Mass Prune of all threads under the wiki forum so that you can restart the importer.

      There are still some bugs in the MW syntax support in the current release, so I would wait until 3.0.12 before attempting to run the syntax converter.

      Thanks for the update. So what do we do in the meantime until 3.0.12 comes out? Will our Wiki articles look like they should in the meantime, just with a higher load due to the syntax?

      For the most part, they should look fine. There may be some quirks due to the bugs. You should hold off on the syntax converter anyway - IIRC, you needed some custom work for MediaWiki extensions first.

      If you used HTML in your articles, you'll need to allow HTML in your wiki forums. I know this hasn't been ever recommended - vBulletin doesn't have an HTML sanitizer like MediaWiki. I may be able to offer alternatives if you post the tags you've used.

      I believe they've used some light HTML in their articles, so I will temporarily enable HTML and recommend that they switch all articles to bbcode.

      I'm going to upgrade using the latest zip. I'll let you know how it turns out.

      Well, just did a reimport and things are better. Most articles and edits reflect the proper user, so that is nice.

      However, the pages don't look even close to how they should.

      Ex: http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showwik...Straight+Razor

      Granted - I haven't run the script to convert the pages to bbcode, but I figured they'd at least have proper linking in place between categories and such.

      Am I missing a setting somewhere to turn that feature on?

      Cool - So I found the setting to enable the legacy code. Works great, except for a few things.

      Thumbnails in the article aren't displaying...? I can click the thumbnail and the full image displays fine, but the in-article image doesn't.

      The articles in our wiki are using a lot of [="Interactive_Guide_to_Straight_Razor_Shaving"] - I assume this should be a redirect to an article, but it's not working.

      Thanks. Loving the product so far.

      Aaand one more thing - Our wiki guys used copious amounts of

      Code:
      <gallery>
      Image:DE_Assembly_Incorrect_2.jpg|Incorrect
      Image:DE_Assembly_Correct_2.jpg|Correct
      </gallery>
      These are being parsed as plain text right now.

      I'm hoping maybe, just maybe, we can get a fixed importer today, because our wiki contains the bulk of our website's information.

      In the Namespace Manager, edit the Default/Main namespace and make sure that it has a BB-Code Tag set. Also make sure its Namespace Function is Default. Try re-saving the namespace, because it looks like VaultWiki was unable to determine the tag that was chosen for the main wiki area.

      As for the thumbnails not displaying. Make sure that the image forum isn't inheriting custom permissions from a parent forum. If it is (or not), make sure that "Can View Thumbnails" is turned on for each group.

      Can you provide a link to where you downloaded the gallery extension so I can have a look? Your original Special:Version page should have this information.

      I will look at the information you've posted today.

      About the gallery tag - Isn't this something available in a default install of mediawiki - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Gallery_tag ?

      Re: the gallery tag. Thanks, I wasn't aware of this. It must be a new addition in the past 2 years. I had needed an extension on my old MediaWiki site. I will have a look and see what I can do for 3.0.12: https://www.vaultwiki.org/issues/2314/

      Awesome, thank you. So what does this mean for us? Will we have to do a RE import once 3.0.12 comes out, in order to make those gallery tags work? Is there a bbcode alternative gallery tag that my wiki guys can use to manually fix all of the gallery spots in our articles?

      You won't have to do a re-import.
      The BB-Code alternative is what I am going to create. I will email you a patch when it's done.
