NuWiki import manual needs to be expanded

      http://www.vaultwiki.org/manual/VaultWiki-Importer

This page really needs some serious expansion. I've performed the import various times now, and these instructions are really lacking. Most of the actions needed are not in there, but have to be found in the Vaultwiki discussion forums.

Please update this to a simply step by step manual, that includes:
      - if NuWiki should be installed during Vaultwiki install.
      - wiki forums setup, and namespaces preparation.
      - what namespaces to apply to what.
      - how to deal with nuwiki islands
      - when to disable NuWiki (or does it need to stay enabled until the end?)
      - is the instruction to uninstall at point 6 correct? You mentioned something about this some time ago.
      - there are no uninstall instructions with NuWiki. Please provide uninstall instructions.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Although the import process will probably change dramatically in VaultWiki 4, I'll try to devote some time to filling out the manual so that it's accurate for the next month or two.

Also what needs to be even added is dealing with page translations for multi-language wikis.

To try to answer some of your questions briefly:
      - NuWiki should be already installed during Vaultwiki install, and should not be removed before hand.
      - wiki forums that are linked to using WIKI BB-Code should all be under the same parent wiki forum. This parent forum should be set as the default namespace via the Namespace Manager.
      - The forum for Templates should be set as the Template namespace. The forum for Headers should be set as the Header namespace.
      - Nuwiki islands don't need any special consideration. They are imported as is.
      - NuWiki should be disabled after the import is complete, if you don't feel comfortable completely uninstalling it. Disabling NuWiki before the import will make VaultWiki unable to read and import NuWiki's permissions.
      - Yes, you can uninstall NuWiki once you are satisfied with the import. You can do this in the usual way via the Product Manager.
      - One caveat with NuWiki is that uninstalling it doesn't remove any of its data from the database. You have to upload and run a separate script from the NuWiki package to do this. Many users may no longer have the uninstall script that was included with NuWiki, so we will have to write one to include with VaultWiki.

Where in the NuWiki packages should the uninstaller script be found?

After much searching my own ZIP and the NuHit site, it appears I was mistaken about there being such a script. If you uninstall NuWiki, the tables will remain, but will no longer be used. We will have to write one to include with VaultWiki. When it's added, you'll be able to run it to finish the job.

Set a Milestone for this as it was buried without one.

Great. The Nuwiki uninstaller would be nice to have.

It may be useful to check if there is animo for this. Its 6 years since nuwiki stopped being developed. vbulletin has deteriorated a lot as well and a lot of webmasters have migrated their sites to other platforms. upgrade to vbulletin 5 also means importing to a new system.
So everyone who has imported from vb3/4 to vb5/xf/ipb no longer has the nuwiki tables. I'm not sure what the status is for vb4 sites, as nuwiki did not work on vb4.

I agree. The users I can think of personally who imported already from NuWiki have migrated to other platforms or are in the process of doing so. Providing an uninstall script to clean the old database seems like a moot point. I feel like users who upgraded to vBulletin 4 have probably figured out they could manually remove tables with "nuwiki" in the name by now.

      I will close this issue.
