Category meta-data not updating on save
Category list pages aren't showing all of the articles that are in the category

      Issue:

I'm doing a mass re-org of the wiki and so am opening a lot of pages in tabs and then adding category tags to each of them, saving and closing the tab. When I go to the category pages for each of them, they are showing up as mostly empty.

By going back and re-opening the individual articles, it looks like the meta-data for those pages are being added to the categories.

      Workaround:
Complete the category add, click save, re-request the page.

      Notes:
      vB: 3.8.4

If you have vBulletin Options > vBulletin Options > VaultWiki: Server Settings > Enable Link Caching = No, then the metadata is not built on save, it is built after the page is requested.

IMHO, the updates of the meta data for the category pages shouldn't rely on link caching.

When you add the category tag, you are the state of your data. Having a caching mechanisms interfere with that seems like the wrong thing to do. Especially if it requires you to re-request the page that you edited, in addition to the category page. A change in system state should automatically update system meta data and mark the cache as dirty.

      What am I misunderstanding?
