Site slows to a Halt Crawl when Enabled

With the Wiki Enabled my VB 4.03 slows to almost a standstill. And there are maybe three posts in the wiki.

Is this a known issue, is their a way to speed it?

This is not a known issue. VaultWiki adds very little to the memory usage of non-wiki pages, and runs very little (and non-intensive) code so I doubt it's adding very many CPU cycles.

What pages are taking the longest? Are there any clues in your server logs that may tell you WHY VaultWiki is slowing those pages down?

How many total modifications do you have installed? Even though you noticed a "slow" problem with VaultWiki, it's possible this was just because VaultWiki was 1 too many modifications. How is your memory and CPU usage comparing to your maximum?

Turn on your forum's debug mode temporarily to check your memory consumption and page generation time with and without VaultWiki. Is it the page generation time that's long or is it actually the time your browser is spending to "paint" the page? If it's your browser, what browser is it?

Are you storing CSS as external files?

There are a lot of things that can result in "slow". I will write more questions as I think of them unless one of these helps.

When using vBulletin 4.0.4, I noticed that if I have zlib compression enabled in my php.ini file, my site also slows terribly. Disabling compression in php.ini seems to resolve the problem, and my page output is still gzipped, so I guess it's done multiple times or internally in vBulletin now (even though my vB gzip settings are all disabled).

Are you still experiencing speed issues? Anything you remember doing to correct them?
