      AJAX Reply SQL Error 1064
      It's still happening.

The page refresh on AJAX Quick Reply that then displays the double post error redirect.

This error is even more obscure than the Auto Link one. We know why it happens: $threadinfo['threadid'] turns NULL between newpost_complete and newreply_post_ajax. The culprit, however, is elusive, because we made sure for the stable release to only replace values with non-NULL values.

The main problem with being able to locate the exact source of the problem is that the error does not occur consistently, but seemingly randomly. One can use AJAX Quick Reply many times without a problem.

So after all this time: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/proje...?issueid=26026

In our tests we determined that $threadinfo['threadid'] turns NULL when the hook newpost_complete finishes. Since $threadinfo['threadid'] is valid on the line before this, we can assume that this may even be a PHP or memory bug, where the server just randomly forgets the value.

Since vBulletin 3.7.3, this bug has been suppressed further by an additional check in vB's code. It is invisible to a forum user, and until more information becomes available regarding the exact cause, it should just be ignored.

After almost two months of happy 3.7.3/4 usage, we upgraded to vBulletin 3.8 and had to deal with this again. It seemed to happen when making the first reply to a thread when I last encountered it. I will try some more, and I think I may have thought of a workaround.

Okay, I implemented a workaround where newpost_complete will re-fetch_threadinfo() when it detects that it has become corrupted. Hopefully this will work.
