      No MW Import Config Checking
      Stuff I stumble Across

      Here are a few things I've stumbled across after installing a fresh copy of the RC2.

      1- The feature that gives me the htaccess rewrite code only pops out this:
      RewriteEngine On
      RewriteBase /
      2- I tried to make a separate namespace for Guides, just to try to have some organization, but every time I get to the final step I get this error:
      Invalid Tag Specified
      3- I don't think images are being imported. Do I need to move them manually or something?

      0. These should all have been reported separately to make prioritizing and tracking them more straightforward.

      1. What are your VaultWiki: Server Settings? This implies that you have not made any changes to the defaults, so it would be correct.

      2. What tag name are you trying? You must enter a tag and it can't be a duplicate of any existing BB-Code, and can't contain numbers or special characters.

      3. Did you set up the Image namespace? Did you remember to set the image paths in the config file? This worked correctly on our extensive testing of the importer.

      0- Sorry, I'm used to doing this on the regular forum.

      1- You're right, I didn't change any settings this time. I decided to forgo the language stuff this time around, since I had problems with languages being scrambled in vb.

      2- I tried to use the name "Guides"

      3- Yes to all. The only thing I can think could be a problem is that the files run under a different user, so maybe it couldn't access the directory? How would I get around this?

      2- "Guides" doesn't throw an error for me. Are you sure this was for the field called "BB-Code Tag Name"?

      3- There is no error checking for these values currently, so it wouldn't alert you if the files were inaccessible. I'll marked this as Confirmed so that an alert gets added for the next release.

      But that may or may not have been your issue. Did you get blank image pages after the import, or no image pages at all? If you have no image pages, it's likely you didn't set a target namespace for "Image" - "Do Not Import" may have been selected in Step 1.

      2- No, I wasn't making BBCode, I was trying to make another wiki section in the Namespaces.

      3- I made sure to check the image to image import, and I made all the namespaces beforehand.

      I figured out the problem to number 2: I was leaving the "BB-Code Tag Name" field blank. I didn't realize I needed one. Oops? Perhaps a different error message that says "You must fill in the BB-Code Tag Name Field." Also, it should probably do that before making the forum, otherwise duplicates may be made.

      Again, did you get blank image pages after the import (the page was created without the image), or no image pages at all?

      What values (use CODE tags) do you have set for the image path items in config_mediawiki_import.php?

      Yes, I got the blank image pages after the imported (page created without the image).

      This is what I have in the code;
      # PATHS

      # full URL path to your wiki image directory, including trailing slash
      $vault->config['imgpath'] = 'http://mydomain.com/rgwiki/images/';

      # server path to your wiki image directory, including trailing slash
      $vault->config['imgdir'] = '/home/runic0/mydomain.com/rgwiki/images/';

      Okay, if you can PM me some login details (adminCP and FTP), I will be able to fix the importer on your install. I suspect something in the vB4 logic is not working for your setup. Please also include a link to the new image forum in your message.

      Okay, the image importer has been fixed for the next build, and should be working on your forum now. You should be able to import your images now.

      I have changed the method from trying to locate the files via the file system, to constructing the hashed URL to the image as used by MediaWiki. This will also make it possible to import images that aren't stored on the same system (provided you at least have access to the database).
