In VaultWiki 3, there are new autolink settings - so autolinks may actually be disabled in some areas. See Settings > Options > VaultWiki: General Settings for the new global settings. Autolinks are also now enabled forum-by-forum, via the Forum Manager. Make sure the setting "Automatically create links to relevant wiki pages?" is enabled.

As for the images, the way attachments work was significantly changed in vBulletin 4. If there are images in any cached posts from vB 3, they will not work until the cache expires or you rebuild the cache manually.

      There are 2 options:
      • If you only used images in wiki pages, go to VaultWiki > Wiki Maintenance Tools > Clean Article Post Cache.
      • If you used images both in and out of wiki pages, go to Maintenance > Update Counters > Rebuild Post Cache. This can take a while if you have a large forum.

What version were you running prior to upgrade?
What is the raw BB-Code for used to create the image for that page?

This is boggling my mind right now because if you can see the image page then the URL is being constructed correctly and the page is there. But the red link implies that the URL is not constructed correctly, or that the page is missing.

Are you using VaultWiki's UTF-8 Support? If not, does toggling it help at all?
Do you have a URL Replacements with the . character in them? If any, please list.

we were running 2.3.2 before the upgrade

the bbcode seems to be messed up
we used to have [bild] as bbcode, now it is:

utf-8 support is off by default, toggling to on shows no effect
      no replacemens with .

You can rename the BB-Code to bild by going to VaultWiki > Namespace Manager, Edit "Image", and set the BB-Code Tag to 'bild'. If the tag is already 'bild', change it to 'image' first, then change it back to 'bild'. This should rebuild the BB-Code list automatically.

This should now be fixed in the current ZIP. There was a bug where, if upgrading directly from a pre-2.5.0 version and the BB-Code record was missing, the namespace BB-Code setting would not be used when adding the record (instead the default phrase would be used - in this case "image" rather than "bild").

changed image to bild, but it shows no effect, instead of the image there still is the red wiki-link
namespaces have been rebuild and the code has been updated in the code list

      the code inside the article:
      Code:
      [[Bild:sekret.gif]]
      when i change this to
      Code:
      [Bild=sekret.gif][/bild]
      the image shows up

why did it work before the upgrade and now not anymore, has there been a change of the syntax?
does this mean we have go through all the artcles and change this code?

I think the Legacy Parser had a rewrite in 2.5. In order for Bild:sekret.gif to work correctly, you need to translate the phrase 'mediawiki_image_name' to 'Bild'. For category links to work, likewise it's 'mediawiki_category_name'. Links that do not match are just forwarded to the generic wiki link function.

This usually happens when the user doesn't have permission to download attachments or view thumbnails. You can set these on a per-forum basis so that it is only allowed for the wiki-image area (see Usergroups > Forum Permissions).

Is this "?" for all images or only some? I know that this will happen if the attachment name and the image page have the same name but do not match in case.

Have you moved your images from the database to the file system recently?
