Within XenForo 2.x, the layout of VaultWiki's search results (specifically the contentRow-minor section) feels cluttered, particuarly when compared XenForo's own content types (threads, posts/replies). With an optional edit reason, this can span across 3 rows. Observe the following attachment:
There has to be a better way for representing a page's creator and contributors which doesn't require multiple lines. In the included attachment, I've put together a more streamlined concept which would have contributor names moved into a tooltip on an "X contributor(s)" phrase. The format of this line would be:
- Creator username (and # contributors - if applicable)
- Content type (e.g. Wiki Page)
- Revision timestamp
- Revisions: Number of revisions*
- Area: Area name
*Perhaps the revision count statistic isn't necessary in search results. I included it in the attached mock up anyway, as it is similar to XenForo's "Replies: #" for threads and it provides a bit of reasoning behind the changing timestamp from a edits being applied to a particular wiki page.
I don't think a revision's edit reason is necessary for search results and it just adds clutter. Edit reasons are very useful when viewing page history and comparing revisions, but not here. Having said that, I'm interesting to hear what other people think.
Does anyone have any different opinions about layout and presentation of VW search results on XenForo 2.x?
