You'll see that this heading and all the ones after it have no section head links, but the headings before it do. It seems that putting headings into templates stops the section head links from being added to the headings from that template and also any additional headings on the viewed page directly after the template.
Looking at the inspector, the affected headings are showing as child elements inside of <div class="vw-section"... whereas the unaffected ones are sibling elements, i.e. with headings positioned between the previous vw-section's closing </div> and the start of a new vw-section.
I'm not sure how many people would intentionally add headings to pages via a template. This isn't something I'd actually do on my own site.
PS: Is the demo site now on Alpha 2? I noticed that at least one of the "Fixed in Alpha 2" issues is no longer an issue there.
Is this fix currently live on the VW XF demo? As I see that the section head links are showing after the template test now .
For some reason the first heading after the template include is repeating three times, now. The third instance has the section head links, while first and second do not:
